Badge work
During each woodcraft session, through games and activities the children will work towards gaining badges.
The badges are:-
I begin
6 weeks membership, draw a folk symbol, be helpful, pass a message and
4 co-operative games.
Children will show a sense of beloning to the woodcraft folk.
I am
3 months membership, children gain their folk shirt, take part in two folk activities and work on a co-operative project on our moto.
Children will begin to show an understanding of the nature of the movement and the group is part of a large organisation
I belong
One years membership, learning about the folk history, working together on the international co-op flag and working together on a co-operative project on folk principles.
Children who have become well established within the group are given the opportunity to find out more about the woodcraft folk.

Children will observe and recognise,

Children will gain an understanding of nature and the wide variety of plants animals and insects that live all around us.
Carnival
Children will learn 3 songs, 3 dances, they will tell a story and take part in a play.
Children will build confidence in their self expression, self esteem and they will be encouraged to share their creative skills.
I hike
Children will take part in 2 rambles, 3 hikes, they will learn the rules of the road and the countryside code and they will take part in a wildwood trail.
Children will gain a love of walking and they will gain an appreciation of the countryside. They will uphold the Woodcraft folk's high level of safety.
Health
Children will learn about the importance of exercise, sleep good nutrition, cleanliness, happiness and safety.
We will raise the childrens awareness and interest in the human body, how it works and how to make healthy choices.
World friend
Children will find Britain on a globe and countries that British people come from, project on another country.
Children will extend their knowledge of the world and people within it.
I camp
Children will take part in a 6 night camp(this can be split into to 1 or 2 night camps) caring for their tent, campfire cooking, firelighting, helpfulness, first aid rules and personal hygiene.
Children will gain a level of independence and sense of achievement at the woodcraft folk camp.
Ecologist
Children will take part in a conservation hike, they will gain knowlede of the local area they will study a habitat and learn about simple food chains
Children will gain and understanding of the relationships between all living things and how we are dependent on each other.
